Hey Pinfinity.

They're all nice layouts. I think though since you're using that image with the logo you need a panel to separate the letters from the image. Notice on the right side, 3rd one down the letters get lost in the image.

Also, what about using a 2 or 3 color vector image instead of a bitmap? I think it will reproduce better if this is indeed going to be used as a logo and not just a layout.

But overall, nice balanced layouts. :)

+1 on neato's suggestions. Doesn't quite pass the squint test. needs better separation between graphic and name.

Thanx guys for the feedback...believe it or not the graphic shown is vector, but it might be a little busy like you say. I have another image which is more simplistic. I see the panel seperation as well... I will modify the art and hopefully get your feedback.

Thanx again

I like the second one down on the right side however, I would make a few tweaks I don't like the font you used for the name. Can't say why I just don't. I would also change the diamond in the background to the yellow you used on the others.

The Excavator is just overkill and I would never associate it with pavers, or general construction. For just plain excavating it would be fine.

I would just have them added taglines underneath listing the things they do.

Example: Excavating • Pavers • General Contractor

It's a CONSTRUCTION company they can have what ever they like. To me it says we do it all from big stuff to little so be afraid to ask.

I think the name would read better in caps and lower case.
I think the equipment needs to be facing into the name, and like has been suggested, made simpler.

Some simple changes would probably make it work better for the customer.

For instance, the name far overpowers the nature of what they do. I’d get them a little closer in size, so you don’t lose the connection.
Next, I know a picture is worth a thousand words, but in this case…. the authenticity of the picture again overpowers the words and take all the focus away from the name….only for a split second.

With these two changes, I think all of your layouts will work much better, except the job sign. You have too much negative space and that’s due mostly to the shape of your logo. Not a bad thing, but if the picture was less pronounced, you’d fill more space with the name and laundry list items.

Also, I do like the font you picked. It's a strong font and carries the weight needed to support a cement company. I would open up the 'S's a little though, so they're not so closed off.

I however dislike the font but if you want to go with it, adjust the ' so it's not so slanted to the right, it takes up an uncomfortable amount of space compared to the kerning on the rest of the name. Kerning between S and A needs adjustment too.

Hey man!

I like the concept. Have you tried maybe stylizing the tractor.. rather then a literal one? Maybe try some with negative space or what not? Vectorizing it a bit?

other than that nice start! :thumb:

Contractors Logo Modifications

Thanx to the pros here on your take of the logo I'm designing for this contractor. I made some alterations on the spacing of the title, different
vector art, and a couple of different looks tht might be used for advertising etc.

I have also attached a pic of their current logo designed by others that they have had for years. I try to not only sell a new look upsell everything
that the client would be using in the future. You got to get em while its fresh or they might say "yea maybe later..let me think about it"

Appreciate your critique

I actually really like their old logo. It has a cool retro look.
I'd just change the tagline, put it in a reverse panel.
