Well We ordered a Mimaki UJF-6042 Yesterday at SGIA. We've done all the testing and it seems like a fantastic machine. Wondering if anyone has any tips for getting started with this machine and making sure I don't make any mistakes out of the gate.

On a side note. I would have purchased the new 7151 Plus but they aren't shipping until January and I needed it sooner But that Machine is a real beauty for the small to mid size UV Printer.

Thanks that is great to know. We've been wanting one of these since the smaller 3042 came out and finally push came to shove and we had to have one for a job we needed. We are very excited about it. Thanks for the contact info if I run into any issues I might take you up on that.

What inkset are you getting?

Primer has no use on that machine. Better solution for work is to put two ~clear~ cartridges. I ussualy print on various plastic materials , and whenever I needed primer, I had no results.

Just my opinion.

I run CMYK and two white, I use my UJF-3042 for everything from Golf balls to Metal USB's with no primer. I do use a Adhesion promoter which seems to help. But can you enlighten me intercrown what two clear carts are?

I run UJF 6042 and have 8 slots for cartidges. CMYK Clear , Primer , White , White. I had an option to put CMYK CL CL Wh Wh , but I decided to put Primer and clear , instead two Clear cartridges.

It`s like varnish , after color.

That is funny because I would say that the varnish has no use in the machine. To each his own. We love our machine and it's been fantastic so far.

how do you guys calculate how much a print service will cost to a costumer?

i mean if someone come to your store and ask you to print 10 plastis cards of 8cm x 5cm, how do you calculate your costs and the price for your costumer?

i have a mimaki 3042 but i don't know if i have high or low prices

In rasterlink 5 you have option for ink comsuption. I think you have to enable it first ( somewhere in options) , then when you create job for printing , right click and hit properties. I think you will find ink consuption calculated in cc ( cubic centimetre) .

Yes i know, my doubt is when i have to add other expenses like salaries, public services, the rent...

Wich formula do you use in your bussinness to charge for the printing service?

i don't know if i have very high prices in my store

I think, in this case , higher is better. You dont have universal formula, because everybody has different rent price, salaries etc. Its not same if you have your machine working all day or just few hours. On the other side you have dicount on quantity ( I guess) .
