New Shout Out Forums Added

At the suggestion of Signosaurus Rex, we have added two new forums named Vendor Shout Out and Member Shout Out. These forums are intended for use when any member has received some exceptionally GOOD help, support or service from any supplier or Signs 101 member and wants to tell the world about it.

Please use these forums to make someone's day.

That is a good idea. I know at times I wanted to give a shout out to members on here that went above and beyond, but I was afraid of it getting "lost" among the other posts. At least this will help keep it "seperate".

I would have gone with a "thank you" system which would be linked with the user's profile.

for example: Fred Weiss 255 Thanks

This forum should support the "reputation" system. If there appears a post helped you(or others) you can add to a user's reputation which would show up around your post count and location as green square(s). The more green ones you have, the greater your reputation. Red squares are the no-no squares.

yes, reputation has the ability to be overused. unfortunately the new system limits it to a specific forum, maybe you can modify the postbit template to link to the user's feedback thread, and lock the forum to new threads, then run a cronjob to create new threads based off usernames. this would keep it setup nice and neat, as opposed to 4-5 different threads being created for the same user.

This places a button called 'thanks.' When a user clicks on it, it places his username in a box right under the post saying that so-and-so says 'thanks' for the post. Every-one who clicks is placed in one box.
