New to using Roland spot colors and need help.

Greetings all,

I have been using Flexi for a while but now that am learning to use the Roland spot color system I am somewhat overwhelmed with the massive quantity of colors available to me. Now what I would like to know is if any of you have or know where I can find a condensed version for everyday use. Or if anybody can tell how to make the right color choices out of the many to create a condensed color swatch table to use on an every day basis. I don't want to overwhelm the customers with too many choices but at the same time I do want to be able to match colors the best that I can when the situation call for a specific shade of a particular color. I appreciate any and all help anyone gives in this matter.

Print the entire chart on your media and circle each one you want to offer the client... then in Flexi, create a new 'New Table' from the color chart area... Then you can select the Roland color from the Roland List and 'Drag and Drop' that color into your new Table... Be sure to save the new Table.

That's pretty sweet, looks like it took forever to make though. How'd you do it?

ill have to give you the walk through when I get back to the shop. it wasnt too hard. the print file is already built in to versaworks. the most time consuming part was trimming it.

In versaworks go to Media>Color selector>OK
it will then add the required file to your queue

select the file and put the settings to your most common
and load your most common media (quality settings will be locked to retain spot colors)

Print the file and spend an hour and a half trimming and punching holes. Then get a tube screw (I used one that was holding together different colors of komatex samples a supplier gave me) you could probably get one at ACE Hardware, and connect the stack!

Awesome, thanks, I'll have to do that when we get a trimmer, it's gonna look all sorts of oogly if I do it by hand.
