Thank you to everone who had put some ideas and input, especially Rich who went to a bit of trouble to give a pictorial idea up. Well done mate! I will do another exercise soon, so keep an eye out under Classroom Assignments.
This is what I came up with and how I got around doing the boards beside the doorway. Sorry about the photo quality, but I have trouble photographing glossy surfaces.

Thank you Dave! And Great job on the REAL signs. Way to solve that door problem with the arch. Now you just need to get those guys to clean up a bit to match their new signs.
