We have our 1204 wired through our router. I tried to install two nic cards on the same computer and it drove me nuts trying to get them to play nice.

This should easy.
You just set up one nic with a set IP address for the PC and connected directly to the printer with a cross over cable. (I.e. 192.168.12.48 for the printer and 192.168.12.200 for the nic card) set the printer and RIP at 192.168.12.48.

You can set the other nic card up DCHP and connect to your router or internet.
