Node editing in Illustrator

Any TIPS!?
im CLUELESS!
major n00b with illustrator
I can edit nodes in flexi..but i scanned in a drawing..used live trace to vectorize it..and now im stuck

PLEASEE HELP!

The white arrow cursor is the direct selection tool for node editing.

You have to "expand" under the object menu to allow for editing.
