Noise Reduction software

I printed off a photo last night at 24" x 42". I knew it wasn't going to be all that great due to the original size of the file, but it got me wondering about the various noise reduction software out there, and how effective it is.

Any input on which one is good value, and what to expect in output?

I use photoshop. Full size at 300dpi for smaller items, 150dpi for wall murals, and apply Gaussian blur filter till it looks pretty.

I'm surprised at the lack of replies on this. Does nobody have experience with software such as Noise Ninja etc?

I'm wondering too if the noise reduction feature in Photoshop 5 is comparable.
