I have saved empty cores for years and with one certain supplier they like when I give them back to them to recycle and use again. It saves them a small pitance and I don't have to throw them into a garbage container and out to a landfill. I can only guess that over the years I have probably sent back hundreds and hundreds of them.
Now with my printer I need 60" cores for the take up real and don't really buy anything in the 60" range so mine were all falling apart and I had ordered 5 rolls of 54" vinyl and asked if they could send me 2 60" cores.
They charged me $2.00 each, and I have no issue paying for it, but think it is a bit short sighted for a small supplier as they are to actually charge for the cores considering how much money I have saved them over the years.
I would never raise it as an issue with them directly or would I stop dealing with them, or even stop giving them my empty cores over something like this, but it just doesn't seem right.... sort of like when getting a good order for decals you actually charge the guy for a .69 cent squeegee?
