Not enough memory-turnig to RGB outline

So sometime when I am designing in Adobe cs3 I will get a error that says "not enough memory to preview" after I push ok it converts all my work to outlines.

Is there a way to get this to go back to it's original state (without the obvious upgrade of more memory)? I mean is there a way to make it go back so I can at least save my work?

never heard of that... but my band-aid solution for any predictable hassles like that... always save right before you do whatever it is you are doing that causes that error.

by the way... since AdobeCS3 is not a program, but a suite of 8 or 9 programs... it might help if you told us if this is in Illustrator you are talking about... and what you are doing when you get the error
