Nozzle check--any troubleshooting guesses?

Does anyone here have any guess why blocks of nozzles are dropping out of the yellow channel of a new printhead? I tried a new head cable and it made no difference. The damper is half full. I do not think the problem is ink starvation. The nozzle check looks the same anywhere on the media. I have wiped the encoder strip with alcohol. The encoder strip does seem loose to me, but I don't have anything else to compare it to. Cable? Carriage board? Any suggestions?

if it's a new head, i'd suspect vapor lock or the carrier fluid wasn't fully purged and now you have some condensated/coagulated ink in the head.

in the case of vapor lock, pull a vacuum from below the cap manually. the pumps won't be strong enough to overcome the empty nozzles.

in case of coagulation, get some cleaning solution in that head pronto.

You probably have a problem with the corresponding cap top. It may be misplaced (not centered in its black frame) or leaky/old and the head cannot clean properly.
