Does anyone here have any guess why blocks of nozzles are dropping out of the yellow channel of a new printhead? I tried a new head cable and it made no difference. The damper is half full. I do not think the problem is ink starvation. The nozzle check looks the same anywhere on the media. I have wiped the encoder strip with alcohol. The encoder strip does seem loose to me, but I don't have anything else to compare it to. Cable? Carriage board? Any suggestions?

if it's a new head, i'd suspect vapor lock or the carrier fluid wasn't fully purged and now you have some condensated/coagulated ink in the head.
in the case of vapor lock, pull a vacuum from below the cap manually. the pumps won't be strong enough to overcome the empty nozzles.
in case of coagulation, get some cleaning solution in that head pronto.
