I belong to an old Italian private club, since 1972. It was established like in 1915 and we do all their signs for the last 20 or so years. Wednesday night and all day Thursday, these little old Italian women make homemade pasta for Thursday night serving. The pizza is all made with home styling. They have many huge ovens, but everything is done the old fashioned way. It's kinda like mafia style and all these Italians waving you on and about...... and the bar is great. My drink is only $4.50 and Mike usually slips me a free one here and there, but then I'll give him a 20 spot tip for the good service.
Yeah, you walk in there and it's like going back in time to Little Italy.
So, while it's not authentic home-made, it's truly authentic Italian home-made on a big scale. They have the fava beans and all kinds of good stuff. Here, look at all the goodies and check out the prices...........

It looked like a Sicilian style pizza. You cant get good pizza around here. Only have the big box pizza chains and one Italian pizza place here that tastes better the chains but 28 for a 16" pizza is a little steep.
One thing I "have" to do when I go back there is hit up a Victory Pig or Tommy's Pizza. Nothing comes close around here. There was another place in the Wilkes Barre area that my Grandfather would always get that looks similar to your pic but I dont think they are around anymore.

I'm moving out by Gino! Although up north where I was born and raised there is a place called Bimbo's la Vino Torchia. Little corner dive in Michigan about 2 hours from my shop. They roast a whole pig once a week. The skin is slit hundreds of times then stuffed with garlic, dill, salt black pepper and torpedoes(viciously hot red peppers) then slow roasted. Served on homemade Italian style rolls. Those in the know ask for skin and torpedoes. Heck. Maybe it ain't so bad here after all.
And yes the owners nickname was Bimbo. He passed some years ago and a young buck took it over and was smart enough to not mess with a thing. Bim had it dialed and had a loyal customer base.

Ew, your right. Those peppers should be ON the pizza. Looks like the pizza I made friday (minus the pepperoni).

The container of peppers gets spread all over the pizza, but I also just eat them as I mow through it. I like eating the peppers, just so. As for the pepperoni being large, I get some specialty pepperoni from an old Italian guy with the same name as me.... Gino. His stuff comes over on the boat and hardly has any preservatives, nitrates and all the other lousy chit in it, but man-alive....... does it taste go-ood.

I agree.. i'm weird like that. I cant eat peppers like that, but on pizza.. ALL DAY. My wife makes a homemade pesto pizza. It taste like sex

Love the central PA Social Club phenomenon! The food is always awesome, the atmosphere dive-ish, they treat you like family, and the prices are cheap as hell! My fam is from reading and shamokin, how I miss the food in those places
