Thanks guys...... have a trouble maker file that needs to be welded up and wont work in signlab so maybe Omega can do the job

crap, i can only find it when i'm at the computer.... but i believe it is under either the Shape or Tools tab listed as "effects"?

Under Tools try Effects
There is one that "welds" (first tool "special)
and a contour tool.

Select all shapes you needed welded together. They must overlap somewhere.

Go to Tools, Effects, Contour. Click.

CONTOUR!!!! thats the name they call it!!! thanks guys. We;d Contour intersect....wtf, cant any of these software companies come up with one name for the function lol

lol. omega is 1k times better at this than illustrator. wayyyy easy.

It is in effects and is contour, I come from across the pond and sometimes find Omega like a foreign language, it has taken me almost a year to work most of it out. But then I believe it was Oscar Wilde that said something like "Britain and America where two countries seperated by the same language"
