Onyx 10.0 and transparency

Hello!

Im having some problems with transparency in pdf. working in corel draw 20.0

Im attaching picutres of file. In last image you can see that transparency doesnt start from zero, and edge is visible.

Also, asking for some advice, is there any special pdf setting that can convert transparency without problems? on second image you can see that transparency in pdf is also different from print and original file...

how are you dealing with transparency?

Onyx 10 is a really old version of Onyx, the RIP Engine is not able to handle transparencies.

hm... i was afraid of that yeah...

but new one is pretty expecive.... and just for transparency...


does anyone know why transparecy is different in pdf?

Coreldraw is not an Adobe product. PDF is an open container type and every Instance of it handles elements differently. Your best bet is to rasterize the transparency for a consistent effect and you can print that out of Onyx 10.

Try saving your file as a TIFF out of Corel. We run into this every once in awhile when we receive PDF's from our clients. We open the PDF in Photoshop then save it as a TIFF. Leave compression settings at "none" when making the TIFF and all layers "on". It works every time.

ok, but how to handle large designs? tifs would be pretty large...

You can use PDFs, just make sure all of your transparency data is rasterized before you save your file as a PDF.
