Onyx Error #4: Unsupported printer (after working fine for years)

Onyx 21.1.1.175
Canon Colorado 1650

Everything has been working fine for almost 2 year and today get this:

Server is starting...
Error #4: Unsupported printer - ''
...Printer Offline!
(Error) Failed to open printer device-

Onyx can see the printer IP address in the settings, IP address Found. Printer can connect to internet/network

No changes/updates to the computer.


Restarted everything, PC, Printer, Router, Switch same result

Any ideas on how to get resolved?

Verify settings are still the same on the printer?

Reinstall the printer to Onyx. If that doesn't solve it, try repair install of onyx. Last resort remove the whole thing and install from scratch.

Sometimes you can get away by duplicating the printer and disabling the first one.

Fixed with help of Canon support

a .SET file went corrupt and needed printer name added in again

file do get corrupted, (especially the ones that are constantly in use)

if you want a guess, check your interfaces (ethernet, wifi, usb and make sure windows update hasn't added the check mark back for
"allow the computer to turn off this device to save power"
