Onyx Help

Hello everyone, I'm working with onyx 21.0.1.248 it is failing to rip EPS files. Which wouldn't be a problem if some of it didn't have cutlines on it.

What it would do when I tried to rip, the little pdf rip file would pop up, go away and pop again and then the file would move to failed and it'd give the message "an issue occurred while trying to process "file name".

Here is what I've tried.
• Created outlines on all the text and tried again and failed.
• Made a whole new file and it still wouldn't rip.
• Restarted Onyx rip station, no luck.
• Made a whole new file from scratch and still failed.
• Restarted computer, to no effect.

What worked.
• Saved file as a PDF.

Issue, as everything else had to be ripped as a tiff I'm worried their will be a slight shift in color. Will update once its all printed and let you all know how it turned out. Until then any ideas or solutions would be welcome.

I use Thrive 19, and YES, using PDF files is the way to go. EPS files are too huge and yet, the color info doesn't change. It's file storage system, especially when inserting JPG, TIFF, or PNG files, becomes gi-normous. If you are using Illustrator, you will notice there is no change with the color when saving as an AI, EPS, or PDF. I use Flexi and Illustrator at my 6am - 4pm, and haven't had a problem.

You have a console window on the lower right corner of the main window, shows a real time protocol. There could be a more specific error description.

If PDF worked, why aren't you using PDF?

We only use PDFs. they're easily saved for the print workflow.
