Orafol 3628M Wall mural film install question

Hello there. Looking to install Orafol 3628M Wall mural film for the first time.
It will be 4 panels with a 1" overlap.

My question is, do I need to mask it before the instal or I could do it without the mask?
It is a 3 mil film and there is no contour cuts, just a straight panels.
