Orical 3951ra VS 3571ra? Plus! 290 VS 293?

I have currently used 3751ra for some curved truck bodies, as well I use it now for pretty much all my long term signage. I lam it with 290.

Can someone with exerience with both 3751ra and 3951ra tell me the differences between them? I know the 3752 is 2.25mil and 8 year, while the 3951 is 2mil and 10 year... The 3751 is supposed to be initially low tack, but I have not found it super easy to use in that regard.

Should I stock the more expensive, thinner, tackier, longer life 3951ra or stick with the 3751ra?

I use 290 lam for the above media. I have just noticed 293, which is supposed to be ultra flexible and PVC... is it much better or less soft than the 290? Which do you recommend?

Thanks!!!!

Honestly, and I know I'll get flamed, but I'd shy away from either. Avery or 3M are much easier to install, IMO.

I don't think you will get flamed. I'm a big Oracal fan, but the 3751 and 3951 doesn't really hold a candle to some of the 3m films I've handled over the years as far as vehicle wraps go.

For vehicle wraps, I prefer the 3m IJ180(more letters and numbers but can't remember what they are). As far as for flat signage, 3751 isn't bad to work with. As far as 3951 (non RA), about the only place I use it is when I'm applying motorcycle decals to paint that are going to be cleared over.

the rolls have a glaze on the surface. It causes the ink to "molt" or not lay flat. Masking tape hardly sticks to it. Also when doing a test print it is very faint. I got 2 bad rolls out of the same lot from fellers and 1 directly from oracal. They both have been awesome to work with and every company has there problems. I wouldnt hesitate using it.

3751 issues

Since getting the bad rolls of 3751ra, I switched to 3951. My fellers rep spoke to oracal and they are still trying to sort the issue out. This was as of last Friday. She said they are having trouble pinpointing the issue because its not a consistant issue throughout the whole lot.
