Al Quaeda is still just as dangerous and it is an extremely high likelyhood that we will see a rash of retribution conducted by small sects and individuals, if not more larger scale terrorist actions. The head of the snake has been cut off but only momentarily. I wonder if it might have been better to capture and take him into custody but that may not have been an option in this case.
