outline help

im trying to make a 1/2 outline of the suzuki "s" but i want it to be one color..they guy doesn't want the "full" "s" just wants a 1/2 outline of it.

not sure if I understand the question. but

...outline it
...separate outline from text
...use cleaver tool to cut in half.
