I was there the week before last(florida keys) and parasailed in 50 degree weather, then the next 2 days in the Bahamas, was a little warmer. We were actually in he Keys when the earthquake hit Haiti. Got a picture of the Keys newspaper with ARTIC BLAST as the headline!!! Have fun!!

I have a shirt I bought in Islamorada in the winter of 1996. I loved the Keys especially Key Largo wher we enjoyed the best Mexican food and beer ever.

Agreed, there is a LOT of brush script in the keys. If you are down a little further in Marathon you will se some great sign work, a lot of it comes out of Signs By Renee. She's a very talented, competent signmaker.

Zeth, I know you are in islamorada but its worth a day trip down to Marathon to fish the Marathon Lady. (http://fishfloridakeys.com/marathonlady/)

There are plenty of headboats in Islamorada, and at first glance the ML looks like any other, but it's really a different experience. If you go during the week there will likely be a light crowd and it's like having a private 100' boat and mates at your beckon call. Capts George & craig own the boat and truly care about their customers. Mates are friends and family and truly love keys fishing and sharing it with their customers.

If you have a light tackle rod, call ahead and ask for a reserved spot on the stern to do a little flatlining for yellowtail (they may ask for a cc to hold it the first time if they dont know u-it's worth it). You'll also find some magrove and mutton snaps while tailing. 1/8 oz yellow jig with fluoro leader and tiny chunks of ballyhoo work just fine-

If you bottom fish youll load up with plenty of grunts and if you are lucky mutton or mangroves and porgy. Lots of peeps dismiss the grunts but they are just fine eatin.

Have fun in the keys!

Thanks for the advice rick! Luckily my father in law has a 26' center console down there, and it's big enough for a few of us. They caught some nice dolphins last week, hopefully we'll get them when I'm down there!
I'll post the catch! (knock on wood)
