Paid with a cow.

My friend is the local bookie (sports betting) this guy owed him $550, so he paid my friend with 1/2 a cow. 600 lbs of hamburger, t-bones, rib-eye.

I told you here in Nebraska chickens, pies and now cows are used as money.:cool1:

Riase our own beef here. Price sounds right on the money if it was freezer ready! They eat a whole lot less when they're in the freezer.

Nothing wrong with barter. I do it for restaurants and eat out often.. quite well too. Less than a buck a lb. I'd trade my ex-wife for some new plotter blades or a box o' squeegies. Closest think I can come to a cow. Bookies in Jersey would sell the debtor as a cow freezer ready too.

Why would anybody be raising cows in Nebraska? If you can make $3500 an acre profit on growing corn it's foolish to raise cattle on that land.

They only raise one animal a year. Mo's year was about 7 years ago and no one wanted him...... so they let 'em go and he started a sign shop for a lose and eventually turned to corn.

I think he has his eyes on a sheep next. ba-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-.....................
