Pantone Swatch Books - Which One?!

As many have already said, Bridge Coated is a good all purpose one. I have a complete set and 99% of the time am just using the bridge coated. The only time I use uncoated is for one customer who needs a dead matte poster stock and when we are outsourcing small offset work. And remember to store the book in a drawer away from the sun rather than fanned out on your desk :)

Whoops! I learned this in school, but forgot in the 7-8 years from then until I got my Pantone guide ;) No worries about sunlight over here at least!

Oh the joys of color matching - and explaining why color matching is a little bit of science and art.

We almost exclusive use PMS Solid coated with screen colors. Our screen inks are pretty glossy regardless of the substrate.

Be careful buying used books. While it's probably ok, if a page was left open on someone's dashboard or in a window, they colors will fade making the book somewhat worthless. We date all our books when we open them for this reason.

...so many questions, so little time :)

Plan to keep the book closed in the small shipping box they came in, indoors, out of the sun! Noted!
