Patrick... the miracle.

Has anyone else been following the story of Patrick, the Pit Bull in Newark? How a human being with a heartbeat could be so cruel to any living creature is beyond comprehension. I hope there is prison time involved...

BE WARNED... IT IS VERY DISTURBING TO LOOK AT.

sad! the thing i learned from getting a dog at the pound last month is that there's plenty of people out there looking for "unwanted" pets:thumb: the person responsible for that dog in the article needs to endure the same treatment.

People like this should be sentanced the same fate as their victims. :frustrated:

I don't know how someone can simply do something like this to anything. :noway:

I hate seeing stuff like this.......some people just suck. We have rescued 6 pitbulls from Newark in the last 9 months. We foster them for a little while and find them a good home. One we got about 3 months ago we ended up keeping and she is a really good affectionate dog and get's along with our other dog Dozer. Yeah that's Dozer in my avatar had him for 2 years since he was a puppy.

Bravo for what you do Surf City... I admire you for it! I'm sure Patrick will find a good home when he's fully recovered. I'm sure there will be a line up a mile long to adopt him. No doubt the people caring for him will be very, very careful as to where he goes. I wouldn't be surprised if one of the staff there adopt him. I'd even like to see him go to Ceaser Milan or Dog Town in Arizona. They know how to make a dog feel loved!

That is so effed up. I am not really an animal person but I still hate to see people do things like this to pets. So sad. Whoever keeps that dog, will have a friend for life. Out of all my friends that have dogs it seems like the ones they pick up at the pound seem to be the best companions. Its like they know what would have happened to them if they stayed much longer. I hope the person gets a big punishment out of it.

That's just a shame.

Hurting an animal that can't even defend itself or relate the true story. I hope that lady gets everything possible thrown at her and she never ever forgets what she's done to a creature on this earth.

She'll live with this memory the rest of her life.

Reading the replies I can't even watch what was linked, but I can't believe anyone who harms animals, I rescued my pitbull from Orlando I believe his previous owner wasn't too nice to him... hes come a long way and is so loving! I cant comprehend how someone could hurt an animal that cant even defend themselves...

Growing up I had nothing but shelter dogs. At least two of those dogs were mistreated before our family adopted them. They were the best FRIENDS a kid could ask for, I always wondered how anyone could have given up these dogs let alone mistreat them. They were more then just a pet or property, they were a part of the family. They were loved.

You know, I can watch sad movies where a person suffers a terrible fate and feel bad but never shed a tear, it is just acting after all. But man if a dog is harmed or killed, I can't help it, that gets to me. I was half tempted not to click on the link, knowing how it would effect me. But I'm glad to see the dog is doing better, and they caught person.... no not a person.... not even an animal.... a thing. I'm glad they caught this thing that was responsible for this.

Geez Agrees tie her up and left for a week.

The reason I have my German Shepard owner abused it soon as I saw that happening I bought the dog. Then a drug dealer got paid to kill it cause I put help put one in jail.

Yes I have one loving faithful dog now, and because of my actions I live on 6 acres below market level 4 plus years so far.

Punctuation Craig.......

As far as the dog. That's horrible, don't get what goes through peoples minds to just let that happen. Disgusting.

In my early twenties I had, what I considered at the time, a friend who had just got a Cocker Spaniel puppy. As time went by I knew he mistreated her by locking her in the kitchen for a days on end and I had witnessed him beat on her. I quickly grew to dislike this guy, I quit hanging with him, and had stopped by Christmas Eve to check on the dog more than anything. Well the dog was not as starved as Patrick, but it was bad enough that you could see her rib cage other bones through her coat and she shook from shear fright. I BLEW up on him, telling him that if he didn't start taking care of this dog that I was going to turn him into the SPCA. Well I tossed and turned all that night just thinking about the poor thing and on Christmas morning I knew he had plans to be away from his his apartment so I went over, broke into his place, and stole(rescued) her! My Aunt took her in, nursed her back to health, and to this day she has been loved and cared for!

What's amazing is he is still alive. People who abuse dogs and other animals in anyway should be sentenced to the full extent and or have the same done to them.

I agree with everyone so far.. THE PUNISHMENT SHOULD FIT THE CRIME... even for animal abuse cases. The news articles are saying that Patrick was locked up for a week, but you can bet it was much longer than that and the abuse has been likely been going on since he was a wee pup. I don't know this poor guy, but I've fallen in love with him just reading his story and seeing the progress he's making. He's touching many, many hearts!! He's such an adorable looking guy!

Heck, I think I'll change my avatar here for a week or so to honor this brave little guy!!!
