hello need help again...when using pen tool on a layer to cut background out..and i haven't closed it up ...and i need a break how do i save that file with the work i have done? i have saved it in.psd but when i open back up my work is lost...Thanks

If you are doing the path in photoshop you need to save the path, then you can edit, save, re-edit that path within the image file multiple times.

even if you haven't completed your masking task, just close the path, so it can be saved.
when you come back to the file open the path and pick up where you left off. that's the beauty of vector, forever editable.

EDIT: looks like i'm too slow... so yeah.. what ForgeInc said.

yes i am in photoshop in paths but don't see were to save paths at..does this save picture to? Thanks

with your path selected... choose... Layer, Vector Mask, Current Path.

nothing in the image will change, only how much of it is revealed, and if you delete the mask, there's your image.

SIDE NOTE: some aspect of working with a masked layer can be difficult. i always duplicate that layer, preserving the editable mask, if i want a layer that i can mess with.

ok if i got a straight path not closed when i do the above my image disappears and my straight line closes itself? but on right in the layers i see the full image but on the screen its cut out...
