Perf and Other Semi-Opaque Materials

I have a client wanting perforated vinyl to reduce visibility into their conference room. Essentially they want to see out, but not be able to see in. I explained that perforated vinyl is not a "magic" material. It does not know which way you want to be able to see, so if it is an interior conference room window with equal lighting on either side, you will be able to see both in, and out.
I suggested many other options, etched glass/sandblasted vinyl, clear view, etc. My question is this: Is there any material that will accomplish exactly what they have described, to see out but not in, given the installation detail (interior window, equal lighting on both sides)? I am leaning towards a print/cut vinyl design on etched glass vinyl, and think that would look great, but I don't know if that will satisfy the client.
Thank you in advance for any help!

just came across this thread and looking to do a similar application. Would it work ok if you had extra lights pointed on the outside of the conference room or outlined around the outside of the window with led's? That would keep it brighter on the outside without making the whole room overly bright.
