Permits for Window Signage

"Around here it was the police department pushing for the limited window coverage because they want to be able to see into the store in the case of some nefarious activity going on in the store." Another BS excuse, so you cant cover a window with signs, but you can put blinds, or the backs of case or coolers up against a window and block just as much.

Wow, I guess I should consider myself lucky. So far our company hasn't had to get installation permits for full window wraps. I'm used to having to deal with all sorts of sign ordinance limits and install permit requirements in regard to permanent building signs, but not window graphics. A few years ago we were doing full wraps for a pay day loans company at dozens of locations in Oklahoma, Texas and New Mexico. We had the usual red tape to deal with for lighted building signs and street signs, but not the window wraps. We've gone back and replaced most of those wraps with more modest window graphics schemes recently. Over the past couple or so years we've done a lot of window wraps for marijuana dispensaries. Some of those can get fairly creative. But we haven't had to get install permits for any of those window graphics jobs so far. I guess it's only a matter of time before that changes.
