Picking up a Roland SP-300V on Monday....

Hey guys I decided to invest in a Roland SP-300V was wondering if you guys could give me some ideas on services I could offer with it. I run a small promotion company....I do cd duplication, bulk stickers, vinyl decals and some light vehicle lettering. My main customers are local bands looking for promo materials.

I was already thinking posters and banners. I read somewhere online that some people use it to print cd inserts that would be awesome if that was possible as I mainly do rush cd duplication orders but just do bulk disks in sleeves as I have had no way to print inserts and outsourcing takes too long for my customers that expect delivery in 24/48 hours.

Also how is the cutting on this machine? I run a combo of a gcc expert 24 LX and a gerber hs15+ I would like to sell off the gcc if the Roland could be my stand alone cutter the gcc cuts good but software wise it's a nightmare and forget about it's proprietary contour cutting.

Thanks for reading guys I'm sure I'll be back with many questions once I take delivery next week.

Good machine
Slow Machine
Cuts well
Prints well (once set up)
Slow Machine lol

Keep the other cutter so you can still work while the printer is printing for an hour

Lol thanks for the reply! As far as speed gos is it slower than the ORIGINAL gerber edge? Because that's what I'm using right now haha I can only print 2 5" stickers side by side and have to switch the ribbon for every color so I can't imagine it's slower than that!

-Sorry my only experience so far is a 300v--- and to sit and wait for a 8' banner to print is killer without another machine to keep working :0)

Yes it's slower then the newer machines, however if you get it setup right and have the right profiles, you will be able to print your inserts on the right photo paper.

I agree, I would keep the other cutter and use it for cutting vinyl, use the 300 as a printer.

Good luck and keep us informed how it goes (works).....

We have the 30 inch Versacamm. Maybe that is the same thing. You will be happy with it but we also have a graphtec for regular cut jobs. Between the 2 we keep them busy all day.

Print all
I like that little printer as well, it paid for itself in first month of usage lol
it may be a bit slow but it depends what setting you're using, I run it off of Flexisign Pro and it rocks !
