Plastic Grommets

I bought a grommet press from Image One and it came with some clear plastic grommets. I've only ever used the metal grommets so I was skeptical that they would last. When I tried using them, they wouldn't even stay together! They kept popping apart, so I'm wondering if I'm doing anything wrong. Does anyone have experience using these?

Unless there was some type of heat going on to reform the plastic, I'm not sure how those would even work... I highly doubt they are cheaper than metal grommets. What's the point of them?

I have no idea..other than that they are "environmentally friendly"

Nice, sounds like they can go directly into the dumpster without having to separate & recycle.
