plate gnd on printhead

Hello!

what does a gnd plate do, what happens if I mount the head without it?

It reduces static. I've seen plenty of old machines out there without one and they worked fine. Just know that if you start getting over spray etc, that could be the cause.

have magenta overspray, on magenta/Yellow head this part is missing. so this may be the fault?

Well maybe, that depends what kind of overspray? Is it just not properly adjusted or random dots of overspray?
