PLEASE CALL SECURITY - looking for reflective blue

Quit buggin' me
Hi all,
has anyone out there striped a Naval Security patrol vehicle?
I am looking for the matching reflective vinyl that is spec'd for these.
I've asked the customer to see if they can get the specs but have not yet hit paydirt.
Looking online I found a 2012 style guide for CNIC (MWR) but it does not list approved films.
I have 3M 680 series reflective blue that is the darkest they offer but it seems too light. The current vehicle's blue looks closer to sapphire or royal blue (if those were reflective). My 680-75 blue falls closer to intense or vivid blue.
Maybe I need to change brands? The problem is getting samples out here in any reasonable length of time. I also have to match the reflective grey and yellow.......
If someone knows the spec, it would speed things up a good deal.
This is what I am trying to match:

My 3M Blue looks like this on white:

Help would be appricated.

I've never seen that grey in reflective and the yellow looks a bit "off"

Could it be printed on white reflective?
Agreed. Printing them all together would probably be the simplest. There appears to be some different colored details on the trident so printing would help w/ that too, otherwise you're trying to match 4 reflective colors.

That stripe looks drunk, sure is an odd shape.

(Not what you're asking but had to share my opinion, ha)

I'm thinking the weird bulge in the stripe is because it's a graphic designed for a Dodge Charger or a Mustang that has a body bulge there.

I was afraid that might be the case. Was hoping someone would have the material numbers or address to a supplier of these graphic kits. I have printed on reflective but have not tried to color match before. Along with the graphics we are supplying all police gear for the new vehicles. It has been quite the learning experience to get it to match up with what they already have.

Is this job by any chance what you had to fill out all that paperwork for?

What kind of printer/RIP are you using?

If it were me.... I would take the closest blue, generate a swatch grid from Onyx, print that on some white reflective hold that up to the current example (assuming you have access to it?) and pick the closest one.

ETA... and the other colors too...

The 2012 guide is probably the same one I have on file. It's a little outdated, but it looks like they use the same striping scheme with the exception of the red 911, so you'll be able to design it to whatever vehicle is used if they don't have an updated one. Which they probably don't.

You'll probably have to print on white reflective to get a match, which I recommend to match the reflective to anything non reflective. The blue scheme uses (their name with pantone color) Navy Blue (303 C) / Blue (7690 C) / Gray (428 C) / Yellow (1235 C), there's also a navy white, slightly off white, RGB 255, 254, 249/ CMYK 0,0,2,0, but that's not crucial. Fonts they use are Liberator Heavy / Roboto Slab / Roboto (different weights of roboto depending on application).

We didn't do these vehicles, but I don't think we ever had any specific materials requested, or issues with what we used. I think we just identified materials we would be using in the quotes, all 3M. It's been a while...

If you need the CNIC logo with the trident, here's a link to those in all accepted color variations, both vector and raster: https://www.navymwr.org/resources/marketing/logos/cnic-logo/cnic_logo

Good stuff. This will get me on the right track, I appreciate it. Thank you.

Arial - it's almost helvetica
There's a federal color standard (595C) for the Navy, you may be able to ask them for it and cross convert it to a usable format like RGB
This explains what the standards mean

Woa - inflation is hitting hard. Nearly $5,000.00 for a box of paint chips. I can remember as a kid we could eat as many as we wanted for free.
