Please help me choose between 2 laptops

I have to buy a new laptop for my daughter for university. My budget is around 500 bucks. Which of these 2 would be the better to go with? I'm wondering if the i3 380 is better or worse than the i3 2310

ive had 3 toshiba laptops. EVERY SINGLE one of them the screen died within 2 years.

Look on Costco or www.tsc.ca Usually tier prices are very good but you get extra warranty and sometime extra goodies......My Toshiba laptop was a real "trooper"....

Never used a 380, but I have a 2310 on this. I've actually been quite surprised at what it can handle, it's been great for what I've thrown at it so far.

Take a look at Acer, at your local Office Max, or Costco, etc. They do nice setups, with ample RAM for under $500.
