PLEASE HELP! Mimaki CJV30-160 take up roll question

This is kind of a Hail Mary but I thought I would ask... does anyone know how to make the take up roll move forward without it actually printing? I can only get it to move when it is printing. I need to transfer a roll of material to another core before printing on it. Anyone??

Start the machine with some media in it. Let the machine measure the media. In local mode hit the down button to move the media forward. The take up will continue to move until you hit end.
