Well, as near as I can tell, the only thing affected is the banner ads not being displayed. That should be back on in due course.

Yes it is. The ad server has to have its permissions setup just so. The technician I hired is a specialist in our ad server software. He installed a version upgrade earlier today and I am leaving it to him to set up the rest correctly and optimize it.
