Suggestions Possible Scam or am I losing it?

The only part that seems out of place for a scam is the current client referring them, I would call them

Why not just call your customer service person and get a 'voice authorization' ?? It'll either work, or not. Then...... you have your answer, in a minute.

Thanks everyone! Correct, it was a scam.
No answer from a call and I don't think he was too happy with our payment policy.
