Good morning!
Here is a story that opening my eyes.
i have a vendor that i will not name because there really is no need to.
i wanted a quote for painted cedar post caps to finish off a sign i had them build for me. There are three post caps. The caps cover a 4" x 4" post, have a slight roof gable around all four sides, and, lastly,
have a cross engraved out of them on each sides. The posts were to be painted with one-shot maroon. They are about 9" tall.
i was quoted to a tune of 179 dollars EACH.
i then called my local carpenter, who did them for less than a 100 bucks, sealed, but not painted.
i them painted the stuff myself.
All i have left to do is figure out the retail value of these things. that is a pretty broad range of pricing to go from...
