powdercoat and vinyl

Trying to decide whether to prime and paint my routed aluminum blank or take it to get powdercoated. Any potential problems with powdercoat and adhesion of HP vinyl?

I think it would be fine either way but I prefer auto grade paint because the powder comes off the sharp edges and peels in sheets once a little bit of corrosion takes hold.

Most powder coats need a high tac vinyl as the powder coat is a LSE.

You may be able to get away with a permanent vinyl... But we generally stick with high tac to be safe.

I did a project with powdercoated blanks and cast vinyl. Worked fine.

We've lettered quite a bit of powder coated signs. Never had a problem going on, staying on or anything else. Just be sure your aluminum is sheet and not composite.........
