Prepping unfinished wood for car wrap vinyl

an advertising agency we work for wants vinyl on this wood wall a picture of which is in the file attached. We're assuming the wood is unfinished. We'd like to use 3M IJ180 (car wrap vinyl), but we'd like to prep the wood in such a way as to make it completely flat and non-porous, and we'd like whatever we prep with to be transparent. Does anyone now a foolproof way to prep this wood so that we won't have adhesion issues?

Why not go with something more like Arlon DPF 8000 or 3m IJ 160? Maybe even go with 3552 instead of IJ 180.

thanks for your response

It was never a good idea to begin with. We turned down the job and advised the broker to tell the customer to paint (some work for starving artists).

I would think the MacTac concrete wrap film would work on that surface for a reasonable period of time. That stuff is amazing. They will send you a sample for testing.

I agree with Auto-Fx. I think you need a more aggressive film, like the vinyl for concrete or brick. The vinyl and lamination are more rigid, which is what I think you would need for this type of job. By the way, where in Charm City are you? If you need some assistance on the project, feel free to send me a personal message.

Welcome to a outstanding Signs 101 and people.

I'm a bit offended by your remark ...Starving Artist... I expect a apology
I'm glad you said to let a artist / sign painter do the job yes indeed better choice.

But remark was un-called for I like many others use our god given talent to make there way in the world with our talents using our hands, tools, mind.
It is true that not all of us artist are millionaires but many like myself are rich in friends, mostly by not INSULTING others.
