How should edge decals be priced? Square foot based on number of foils used? I want everyone in our shop to be on the same page regarding this... With prints off the Mimaki it is a square foot price.. period. With the edge they struggle and i want consistency. Last order was a quantity of 12 - 6" x 6" decals using a total of 4 spot colors. As an exercise I had 3 people price it and they all came up with different prices... 2 were close but one was off by 60%. none of the three were close to my price which was in the middle. Any thoughts?

We use "estimator" and it calculates number of foils, type of vinyl and calculates waste, as well as giving you wholesale and retail pricing. I am sure you could use Cyrious as well. As you mentioned it might be pretty difficult to come up with a general pricing system.

I price by the linear inch for the entire image height of 11.8" with different variables for vinyl type, type of foil, and number of foils.
Your 6" x 6" would be $11.43 each on HP cast vinyl, standard non-metallic spot colors and would be $5.48 each if reduced in size to 5.75" x 5.75" so they could be run two up.

Gerber has an "Estimated GERBER EDGE material Costs per Linear Foot" chart that your sales rep should be able to provide you, or it may be on the GSPinc site. That should help you with creating your pricing.
Personally, I take my standard price for the base material chosen, then add $2/ft per foil & $1.50/ft for lam. My prices make me money, YMMV.

I don't. Strictly the image dimensions are used including any bleeds.
67¢ a linear inch for total image height wholesale for HP and one spot or process color.
Add 20¢ for each additional color.
Add 30¢ for each metallic color.
Add 40¢ for each medal color.
Add 50% for retail.
