Print comes out smaller

Hi guys,
was wondering if anyone ever came across printing coming out smaller lenght wise. Let say I print a rectangle of 28''x 70'' well the width will be fine but the lenght will lose 1 inch or 2 but the print looks very good with no banding. Itried printing without the break and leaving lots of media slack i the back but same thing. This is a new roll..can it be the media?

by the way i have a roland sp-300

thanks
Alex

I believe you need to calibarate your x-step control. There is a setting on the printer and in the rip, usually adjusted by +-.001 - .005". You have basically the opposite of horizontal banding.
