Print in Onyx, cut in Flexi...

I have an odd workflow I'm trying to make work. Bullet points of our situation

-We are subbed as installers for another printer that cannot cut

-Sometimes their customers need print and die cut work

-They prefer to print everything themselves since they have a 6 color machine and do a lot of high end display work. Our VJ 1204 isn't up to par.

-Mixing and matching stuff we print with stuff they print in the same location doesnt work even on the same media

So - any way to set up Flexi regi marks in Onyx? When we print, Flexi sets up the 1/4" black border around the print area and then contour cut on our Muth Ultima.

What you will have to do is set up the file to print and cut in your workflow, then export it as a tiff or whatever and have them print it. Then all you have to do is call up the file and cut.

There is an option since 8.6 which generates registration marks for a lot of different plotter types directly in the Flexi Editor (not on the RIP). Then you could export the file, send it to print, and as soon as the print arrives you could send the the cut contour out of the same file (fs) to the cutter.

All the files are created and designed by the Onyx user. I'm looking for some type of solution starting in Onyx...?

There is no way for them to print and you cut using two different programs without you setting the marks up first and providing them a printable file.
