Printing Dark

My Rockhopper 38 is printing the first inch or two very dark and then the colors come back fine.

A cleaning corrects the problem but now I have to clean between each print.

Even if there is only a minute between sending prints, the ink looks contaminated for the first couple of inches and then works back to the right color.

Any thought would be appreciated.
