Printing Gradients

Im printing signs with gradients onto a roland xc540 from illustrator.. I was messing with color profiles last week because it wasnt printing grey swatches properly. Now it is leaving out one of the gradients colors and leaving it as White.. Im not sure what exactly i have to change in the settings to correct this.
Any suggestions?

what file format are you using (.eps. .pdf, etc..)?

rasterize the file prior to sending to the rip.

yes rasterizing worked.. I also found that if using a roland swatch in a gradient the printer converts colors or does not read them correctly..
