Printing on clear vinyl

I have a customer that wants some graphics on the hood of his car. He however wants a graphic that will be better off printed than using cut vinyl but he wants the graphic in black and the lines to show the silver metallic color of his car. Do any of you know of a durable clear vinyl that can stand up to the heat from the engine and the sun beating down on it?
I will probably be laminating this graphic as well so I am looking for a durable printable clear vinyl and a laminate that will hold up just as well.

Could you digitally print the graphics and set cut lines for the area he wants to show? Then run it through the cutter and weed those parts out. You still get the quality of cast with the silver.
