Printing onto folded Aluminium panels

Hi, I have a job coming up where i need to print on folded aluminium panels with a 28mm return, does anyone have any tips/hacks on what to use to carry the panels through the flat bed printer? currently we are using 30mm foamex with holes in it for the vacuum to do the job but the panels are quite big and with the foamex carrier becomes vey heavy to lift and lay! any help would be appreciated!

Knowing what kind of printer you're using would be helpful.

Belt-fed hybrid? True flatbed?
