I have printed a couple 21' long banners for a furniture store lately, and there have been problems lining up the grommets with bolts placed at odd intervals on the exterior wall. Using the measurements our salesman took from the top of a ladder with arms extended way over his head, I placed grommets in groups of three roughly surrounding each measurement, hoping one of them would line up. The next one, I marked which of each group of three was correct, and only used one grommet at each bolt location. When I got the call that the final grommet was 1/16" from reaching the final bolt, it dawned on me that a sharp drop in temperature could have caused the whole thing to contract enough to make it not fit.
They finally got it to work by taking the whole thing down, stretching it, then hanging the corners first and working toward the middle. Is there any way to avoid having to be that precise with these banners in the future? They will be replacing the banner every month or so, and I'd like to avoid having a heart attack each time they do so.
