Need Help Problem with ink No Magenta or Cyan coming at all! Changed Fuse - Roland xc-540

Hi Guys,
Had an old thread however not had much luck with it.

I have a xc-540 and I have no magenta or cyan what so ever I believed this to be a issue with the fuse as someone said I could have blown the fuse when I was trying to fix my 'sensor eye error'

I have since ordered 3 fuses and changed them I suspect one of my fuses are blown again as on a reader I am getting no reading for fuse number 1 but then again I am not good with the multimeter reader at all I picked it up from screwfix for £7 and after a bit of research how to use it put it on the correct setting.

I am thinking now there is more to it than just the fuse.. Originally when trying to clean the sensor and clean the board a few cables were dirty so I took them out one by one and cleaned all the dust etc when I pulled one of the flex cables out and put it back in and turned the machine on it said temperature too hight 46 degrees. I turned the power back off and went to the cables I removed and found on one of the cables the chip head pins were slightly damaged so I fixed these by straightening them back and switched it on and the error went. However from then I have no magenta and cyan despite changing the fuse,

You need to put brand new cables in and replace the fuse. Once a cable is damaged, it is likely to keep shorting out the system and blowing the fuse. The cables are only rated to be taken in an out 3 times believe it or not. As soon as those leads start popping off the plastic, that cable needs to go. A head heat error just means the head has shorted out which is why the fuse blew.

transistors should all measure (left leg to right leg) around 40-42 ohms. if they're all within that than they are probably good.

That high temp is probably a thermister error because the cable is damaged. I agree with what Vander said, replace the cables and the fuse and try again.

However, I have had a bad print head blow the fuse repeatedly and I had to change the print head as well as the cables and fuse.

The manual doesnt say to change the cables when replacing heads but its highly suggested. Any ink on the cable that may get into the head connector will cause a short most likely.

we had this problem a lot
it may be the data cabel or the top of the head has cracked just under the damper

normaly a damaged head cap cased by the dampers rattaling around, easy fix

so are the ink lines and dampers full? if yes
swap the data cabels yellow to magenta , magenta to yellow ( if any of the ends have any wetness to them you have found the problem as flush will somtimes seep in, dry them and put a peace of cleen paper in the head to draw out the flued, do not plug the cable back in untill the head is totaly dry )
turn the printer on and do a test print, if it prints magenta you know its the data cabel ishue
carfully make shore the data cable is seeted in the print board and then have a look at the print head.
if any of the gold terminals are bent or comming away from the ribon replace them

if its still not printing carflly take the dampers off
are the nipels on the head wobery if so replace the head caps

Hi sorry for the late reply I changed the cables around are these the flex cables ones? that are going into the motherboard as I changed these and nothing happened or are you on about the ribbon cables by the print head?
i.e the picture attached

Hi Guys just an update machines still down the F1 Fuse has blown again after putting a new one in. Any advice? Cheers
