Problems printing w/ HP-360 - Banding

Hello everyone,

I printed a file for a wrap using IJ180CV3-10 and on two random areas I had some banding areas, please see the attached pictures.

It was quite random and happened twice - I experienced this with a different media previously.

Is there anything I can do to avoid this to happen? What might be the cause?

Thanks

The primary root cause of horizontal banding (in the carriage movement direction) on inkjet printers is directly tied to printhead / nozzle performance. With the HP latex printers, banding will not become visible until a significant number of nozzles are lost, but because the thermal printheads are consumables on the HP Latex machines, printhead replacement is inevitable over time.

If the head fails before one liter of ink has passed through the head in question, it is replaced at no cost under the printhead warranty.

I have had this happen on my L26500. I have found 2 issues. The non locked hub on the media feed is not holding the media tight and the tension assembly on the media feed is not having a good moment. I have been able to clean the hub and the tube to reduce that issue. On the tension assembly, if it starts happening more frequently I replace it.

banding

Castek is right, your printheads are most likely to blame. You can especially see this when your banding is isolated to a particular color; we recently had some banding resulting from a failing LightCyan head that only showed itself in light colored skies, clouds, etc. Check the volume run through each printhead and if upwards of 5000mL or so, swap it out. We're already on our 4th set of printheads for both L360's we purchased back in June. In the meantime, you can try the "Optimize Print Quality" from the menu, and that may help your issue temporarily.
