Pub signs must be hot right now!

No sooner did I see Joe's awesome design and seconds afterwards, I got the go ahead on a pub sign I designed yesterday for a new club house. The guy loved it and said make it over the top!

It's only 22"x22" and will be inset into a tile backslash over a custom built counter/cabinet wall. Going to do it dimensional and maybe 23k gold leaf! They never flinched at the price :)

Not sure why but these colors are looking a little off wonkey here.. Designed this in Corel X6.

Thanks guys. The sign will be set in a granite back splash and all the cabinetry is a dark cherry. Should really pop!

It looks very good but if you are looking for further input I'll just do a little thinking out loud...the colors of the green striped background look a little inconsistent, I'm not sure if it's meant to be that way or not but it made me think that it looks like a green felt background and if they were a little alternating light, dark, light, dark, then it might look like the grass on the course freshly cut. I think the red in the panel gets a little muted and dark or dull and could use a slight tonal change. If all that lettering is to be gold, you might consider a little more kerning so they don't glare into one gold blob when you're looking at it when it's finished.

Thanks for the insight GB2. The actual colors will be painted and not as you see in the image here. Not sure why but when I exported from my original file, there seems to be some color shifting. I'm running into some issues regarding several things new with CorelX6.

At this point I don't think I will make any further changes to the design. It's been approved and I'm too busy to keep fiddling with it. I know I could keep on tweaking things to no end if time and money permitted.

But I do appreciate the extra set of eyes and all the suggestions from everyone. I know my eyes get tired, especially when I'm bouncing back and forth on so many projects. It won't be the first time that I miss the mark on all the subtle details that go into these jobs!

Okay, so you guys have some good points and ideas. I went ahead and played with your suggestions and I like what you all have contributed. I don't know if I'm going to try and change the clients mind but I think I might be able to since he is relying on my direction.. I'll at least give him the choice.

But here's what it looks like now. Thanks again for the suggestions!

The file on the left is an export from CorelX6, the one on the right is a screen capture using snag it. Why does Corel look crappier when exported as a .jpg?
